Godiva UX/UI Design
One of our final projects in college was to design an app for a company that was assigned at random. Along with the UX/UI design, we also needed to create some supplementing assets. First was a landing page to direct the user to the app in their corresponding app store. Next, was a social media post to draw attention towards the aforementioned app. And finally, a series of print ads that could be billboards, subway, bus, or standing kiosk ads. When I was assigned Godiva Chocolate, it was shortly after Valentine’s Day and I first thought of those variety boxes that chocolate companies tend to put out during the holidays. I thought to myself, I don’t know anyone who likes every single type of chocolate that comes in those boxes. So, how about an app that lets you curate your own variety box of chocolates. So became the concept of Curated Decadence by Godiva, say goodbye to those horrendous coconut filled chocolates. For the design, I wanted something that just screams elegance, class, and decadence. Theres something about Art Deco that just shouts wealth, class, and the elite. With that idea, I combined some Art Deco typography, line work, and richly saturated color to develop a design that achieves all the points I wanted to highlight. With the concept at hand, I got to work on the print assets. I chose to do three flavors that would only be available in the app, and these three needed to be unified by similar type and style. With a subtle tweak in color and finish, I would achieve this unified look also each being distinctively their own, and ultimately become a stunning looking set.
